REMINDER: Rick Scott Would Have Signed Florida’s Abortion Ban If He Was Governor

Rick Scott In April: “If I was the sitting governor, and the six-week abortion ban came in front of me, I would sign it. I’ve always said I would sign it.”

Rick Scott Co-Sponsored A National Abortion Ban And Supported Florida’s Abortion Ban

Miami, FL – Today, Debbie for Florida is reminding Floridians of Rick Scott’s long history of embracing radical abortion bans, including his support for Florida’s abortion ban and his cosponsoring of a national abortion ban that would endanger women’s lives and put doctors in jail.

“Rick Scott has wrapped his arms around Florida’s radical abortion ban with no real exceptions for rape, incest, or the life of the mother, despite the fact that Floridians of all partisan affiliations agree that our state’s extreme abortion ban has gone too far,” said Debbie Mucarsel-Powell. “Rick Scott didn’t hesitate to endanger the lives of women and strip reproductive freedom away from millions in Florida when he cosponsored and voted for a national abortion ban. It’s appalling that Rick Scott has pledged to oppose Amendment 4 – just like he opposed protections for contraception and IVF. Rick Scott’s extremism and attacks on our freedoms have gone too far, which is why our coalition of Democrats, Republicans, and independents will kick him to the curb come November.”

Time and time again, Rick Scott has embraced Florida’s abortion ban:
