Does Rick Scott Agree with Donald Trump’s Praise for Maduro’s Venezuela?
Miami, FL – Last night, Donald Trump praised Maduro’s Venezuela by falsely claiming crime rates have dropped in the country by 72%. Venezuelan Floridians, many of whom have come to Florida seeking safety and security, deserve to know if Rick Scott agrees with Trump’s mischaracterization of Maduro’s Venezuela. Does he agree that Venezuela is less dangerous? Does he support Trump’s praise of Maduro’s rule?
“Venezuelans are living under a violent dictator who is trying to steal an election away from the will of the people. Venezuela has one of the highest murder rates in the world. That’s why in Congress, I fought for TPS of immigrants to help keep families safe,” said Debbie Mucarsel-Powell. “Trump continues to lie about Venezuela while Rick Scott celebrates him. Democracy around the globe is on the line, and we cannot allow another White House that refuses those in search of freedom.”
